Prague New Year Fireworks 2012 (3/6)

New Year fireworks over Prague lit up in the first minute of 2012. The wonderful light show has been called “Prague, the mother of cities” and has been fired from a pontoon on the River Vltava near the Charles Bridge. The fireworks lasted 15 minutes. The firework display was in city colours (red, yellow and white). Additional golden colours created a symbol reminding of the city coat of arms: three golden towers with a silver sword in the middle. Prague Castle is the biggest castle in the world (according to Guinness Book of Records the biggest ancient castle). It is about 570 m long and about 130 m wide. Prague Castle is the official site of the presidents of Czech Republic (and former Czechoslovakia). At old times, the castle in Prague was the site of the Kings of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperors.
